No contest in the prints today - Aidan Magee of the News of the World has a first-class interview with Carlos Tevez in which the City striker lays bare his tough upbringing.
It's not unknown for a top sportsman or woman to fight their way out of the squalor and deprivation of a slum or favella, but the Tevez story can hold its own in any rags to riches contest.
'Murder, drugs, gunfire, gangsters, police sirens, dirty syringes and broken glass provided the backdrop to his tortuous upbringing in Fort Apache,' catalogues Aidan with a true reporter's undisguised relish. And then it gets worse from there. No, just kidding.
It's a compelling read though, and Carlos also explains why he will never resort to plastic surgery for the scars on his neck.
Tevez is having a huge replica made of his famous 'Welcome to Manchester' poster for his new home, by the way, and also sending one back to Buenos Aires. It'll just get nicked, Carlito.
