‘This town ain’t big enough for the both of us’....expect sparks to fly!

Rio Ferdinand, currently sidelined by injury and therefore kicking his heels, has been talking about us again.

“I won’t like it much if City start doing well,” the United central defender told Rory Smith in the Telegraph. “This city isn’t big enough for two big teams.”

Rio, clearly mindful of a possible backlash did manage to add that City fans are ‘very loyal’ and have been crying out for success.

“Maybe they think their time has come,” he mused.

In other news the Express, Times, Mirror, and Sun all reflect on the announcement made on mcfc.co.uk yesterday that Brian Kidd has joined the coaching staff.

Richard Tanner in the Express devotes the best part of a full page to the arrival of Kiddo and hits the nail on the head in paragraph four.

“His appointment underlines manager Mark Hughes’s pledge to invest in, rather than ignore, one of the most productive academies in the Premier League.”

We think everyone will find that is what Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon Al Mubarak have been saying since they took over a year ago.
