David Silva is on his way, and that's a fact, as Liverpool's manager used to say. But never mind that, reply the papers, who'll be next on Roberto's incoming list?
Actually, they're pretty confident that, as the Telegraph's Mark Ogden reports, Yaya Toure's move from Barca "will be officially rubber-stamped by the end of the week".
But Oggie, ears still ringing from the vuvuzelafest that is the World Cup, is back home and hearing that the club will now "attempt to lure James Milner from Aston Villa".
He writes: "City manager Roberto Mancini remains keen to add the midfielder to his squad before they fly to the United States for a training camp and pre-season tour on July 12."
The Telegraph man notes: "The capture of Silva is a major coup for City. He was a key figure in the Euro 2008 success and is regarded as one of Europe's brightest talents."
He quotes David, who is still at the World Cup: "The time is right for me to seek a new challenge, and I am thrilled about playing in England with Manchester City."
Independent writer Ian Herbert concurs with his colleague: "Milner is City's next target after £24m Silva deal" more or less sums up his insightful page-lead report.
And Herbie has a clever sidebar to warm the hearts of Blues fans. "Why City are the real winners of the World Cup" offers five sunny bonuses to make the manager smile.
The sub-headings tell all: Joe Hart will only get better; Robinho has come good; James Milner seems good value; Yaya Toure may be on his way; and Carlos Tevez, the star who's shining. Reasons to be cheerful, Roberto.
Meanwhile, the Sun says Argentina's Lionel Messi wants to beat Germany for the Gallagher brothers, and hopes to watch a City game next season with both Liam and Noel. Mad for it, or just mad?
