Well just a New York minute! City's US tour has hit the Big Apple and are the perspiring Press pack writing about more than the money and the transfers? You betcha.

They spent a few hours up on the roof with Garry Cook, Pablo Zabaleta et al as pioneering Blues dedicated a new pitch six storeys up for the kids of a school in Spanish Harlem.

The result? Sports desks have recognised a good-news tale with a difference and given it some space, with nice shows for Guardian man Andy Hunter and the Mail's Ian Ladyman.

A page lead too for David McDonnell in the Mirror, but the Mirror being the Mirror, "Disco" homes in on Zaba's thoughtful, newsy quotes about the challenge of winning the title.

Coincidentally, it allows for the day's top headline - "We must be roofless" (geddit?) - and Disco dutifully adds the pitch details in a second story to virtually fill the page.

He quotes Chief Exec Cook: "It's been almost a year in the planning and we hope it will have a profound impact on the lives of children at the school and in the local community."

Of course, outside of Manhattan the whole world still revolves around the transfer market, and there's plenty of that stuff to keep the grapevine buzzing as the new season looms.

The Times reports that Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko is claiming that Manchester City and Lyon have expressed an interest in him, and we know Roberto is short of midfielders ...

Chelsea, according to the Sun's Geoff Sweet, are sweating on a £20million bid for Benfica's "Brazilian World Cup ace Ramires" to decide if he will join them or ... well, you can guess the rest.

The Express reports that our favourite title tipster Harry Redknapp faces "a battle" to convince his chairman Daniel Levy at Tottenham to make a bid for Craig Bellamy.

And just in case you've been away, the Times and the Daily Star do their bit for recycling with the line that both City and Chelsea remain interested in Liverpool's Fernando Torres.
