With entire rain forests being devoted to 'that' game on Sunday, (What, the 1-dayer against the Aussies? - Ed.) we're feeding on some familiar scraps today.
A couple of days ago it was mooted that Robinho would be told he could leave City; now it seems he has told the Club that he wants to go.
"Robinho has told Manchester City he wants to quit Eastlands. The British record £32.5million signing delivered the message through his agent Evandro de Souza in talks with Blues officials yesterday", The Mirror's David "I'm not at the World Cup" Anderson informs us.
But if you thought the Isner-Mahut match at Wimbledon was long and drawn out, keep your eye on the "David Silva to City" thread. It crops up again, with the Times telling us that "Manchester City edged close to signing David Silva after it was claimed that the winger has agreed a five-year deal.
"The Valencia & Spain forward has been offered £80,000 a week after tax, according to reports in Spain last night." At this rate he'll be across the Pyrenees by Christmas!
Over at the Sun, Martin "I'm not at the World Cup either" Blackburn reveals that Everton have eyes on Stephen Ireland.
"David Moyes is keen on Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland." he declares, adding that:
"The 23-year-old told City boss Roberto Mancini last season he wanted to move away from Eastlands.
"Ireland stopped short of handing in a transfer request but had become frustrated at the lack of first-team chances.
"And with City linked with David Silva, Yaya Toure and James Milner, Ireland hopes an £8million bid from the Toffees will be enough for a fresh start."
