City's weekend off means that it's a fairly quiet day on the news front from the Blue perspective.

But at least Joe Hart did see some action on Saturday, although sadly for the on-loan stopper his FA Cup campaign is now over. Joe's excellent form for Birmingham City has seen him enter the frame for the World Cup, and not for the first time there is talk of him extending his stay at St Andrews.

Look in the Mirror and you'll read Alex McLeish's appeal to keep Hart for a longer spell thus, "We'd like to see him stay for another season and he wants to stay. But it would have to be a loan deal because City won't sell Joe."

Elsewhere, there's comment on Shaun Wright-Phillips' contract negotiations in the Express and the Independent, while back in the Mirror Shaun himself is seen with pal Wayne Bridge taking advantage of the gap in the fixture list in the sunnier and most definitely warmer climes of Florida.
