Derby preview interviews inevitably dominate today, the Sunday papers having quietly pounced on their quarry midweek then crossed fingers that nobody else would have the same idea.

Full marks to the Sunday Express then, who send Richard Edwards round to Ossie Ardiles' soccer school in London to ask Argentina's World Cup winner about super striker Sergio 'Kun' Aguero.

The former Tottenham star doesn't disappoint on his fellow countryman: "He looks like Jimmy Greaves and he looks like Romario, because he is very quick.

"He has lightning pace, but more than anything he has that state of mind. Jimmy used to love scoring goals, Romario as well. He makes scoring look easy.”

Just in case anybody had forgotten about the biggest derby ever, in the history of the universe, Edwards adds: "City will get the chance to measure just how far they have come ... this lunchtime, when Aguero will provide a stern test for a back four that has looked shaky in recent weeks."

Right. And who else is playing? Yaya Toure, of course, who - as The Observer's Paul Wilson reminds us - won his Champions League medal in 2009 at centre half in the final against the Reds.

Wilson quotes Roberto Mancini: "When you are a top player you can play in every position and for me Yaya is one of the best players in Europe.

He has always played for top teams, he is strong in the air, he has everything technically and he brings a lot of experience

"You don't often get all that in a player who is big and physically strong, he reminds me a little bit of Ruud Gullit."

Plenty of comparisons floating about today, eh? Yaya tells Paul: "One day I hope we can be loved like Barcelona are, for our football as well as winning." An admirable ambition.

And finally, US Website Headlines We Like No.94: Can City quell marauding United? sits proudly above Jamie Trecker's considered preview on foxsports.com.

There's something reassuringly old-fashioned about it, a headline written with a fountain pen by an elderly editor who hands it over on a scrap of paper to a digital whizz-kid.

Patrons should kindly note that quelling will commence at 1.30pm, by the way. It will be broadcast on the wireless ...
