It’s one of the most exciting days of the year for football fans – transfer deadline day has been known to throw up a few surprises and it is likely today will be no different.

Everyone is looking for the sensational story, but keep checking mcfc.co.uk as we will be first to bring you news of any movements in or out of the club.

Elsewhere, there’s plenty of reaction to yesterday’s Champions League draw and after being grouped with the champions of Spain, Germany and Holland, it’s no surprise that City hit the headlines once again.

The ‘group of death,’ is what most Blues had feared, but on the up side, it means a host of international stars will flock to Manchester in the coming months.

Cristiano Ronaldo

“Make that Group D for Drama,” writes The Telegraph’s Henry Winter.

“Sub-plots spill from every team-sheet. The Real Madrid-City duel offers plenty of fascination. Cristiano Ronaldo is back in Manchester, this time in the cacophonous backyard of the noisy neighbours.”

Madrid’s star striker has also acknowledged that making it to the next stage will be no mean feat, but true to form, he is confident as ever.

“It’s pretty difficult,” Ronaldo claimed.

“In my opinion, and I am sure the opinion of most people, it is the most difficult group and the most competitive. But we are ready. We are champions of Spain and we are ready to compete with anybody. In my opinion the best teams in the world are there in Spain, in Real Madrid and Barcelona.”

We’ll see, Cristiano.
