Ajax playmaker Cristian Eriksen has ended rumours of a January transfer and pledged his future to the Amsterdam club.
The talented 20-year old was a thorn in City’s side in the two Champions League encounters between Ajax and the Blues and it was thought that a move to Manchester could be on the cards.
“I think for everyone who wants to get to the highest level, you have to be in the Premier League, of course. But when that should be, I have no idea. Maybe 10 years,” said Eriksen.
"I'm going to see what opportunities there are but I'm still happy here and I don't have any thoughts that I have to leave.
"Money has never been a motivation. I have chosen football before that every time and I still do that. I'm addicted to football. When I get outside, I just want to stay on the training pitch."
In other transfer gossip, Joleon Lescott continues to be linked with a loan move back to Everton.
Today, the Daily Express suggests that the defender who has made 74 appearances for City, could be tempted with a move back to Goodison Park.
“Everton manager David Moyes has in recent weeks welcomed the chance to re-sign the former defender, who saw his stock rise at Goodison Park,” Charles Perrin of the paper writes.
“And Lescott is believed to entertain the idea of a return to the Toffees, where he feels he could reproduce his form of old.”
Finally, Ryan McGivern’s successful loan spell at Hibernian could be set to continue after Bees manager Pat Fenlon admitted the SPL side were looking to extend his stay beyond January.
Hibs have been performing above all expectations in the Scottish Premier League so far this season and find themselves in fourth place.
“We are working away, but we can only do so much. The final decision is outside of our control,” said Fenlon.
