We're Edin for title, says Dzeko

Edin Dzeko's been a bit quiet of late - he tends to slip under the radar off the pitch, unlike some we could mention, Mario. But the big man's been talking, and people listen.
His Bosnian interview is all over the interweb in various guises, and Edin brings glad tidings: with a bit of luck and a following wind, the title-chasing Blues are bound for glory.
Goal.com sums it up with one of those marathon website headlines: "Edin Dzeko says that he is finally settled and happy at Manchester City, while also optimistic of sealing Premier League glory this season."
Phew. In a way, you don't even need to read on after that. But we did, and it was all good.
Dzeko declares: “Now I'm here for more than a year, I can say that I feel at home. The city is nice and I don't have any problems with it. The people are great. They recognise me and I've even got some new friends here.
“Football? It is going smoothly. We are in a good position and, even if there are many games until the end, I feel we can be optimistic.
I hope we won't have any problems with injuries as every player is so important to us
"And if we are lucky and ready to fight, that could be the main thing in the fight for the title.”
A bit of context? "The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals so far to help his side to a two-point lead at the top of the Premier League as City look to secure a first top-flight championship since 1967-68." That will do nicely, thanks.
On the other side of the world, they're looking off the pitch rather than on it, and from Canberra to Auckland the big story is John O'Neill, erm, not joining Manchester City.
The Dominion Post is among those reporting: "John O'Neill has just missed out on one of the biggest jobs in world sport - chief executive of English Premier League leaders Manchester City.
"The Australian Rugby Union boss was told at the start of the month he had been overlooked for the post. Neill was headhunted while in New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup."
The identity of the new chief executive will be announced on mcfc.co.uk. Obviously.
Injury news barely figures in the nationals any more unless it's of great significance, so the Mail finds space for the skipper: "Vincent Kompany is back in training after recovering from a knee injury.
"The Belgium defender, who missed the Barclays Premier League leaders’ victory over Fulham on Saturday, hopes to be fit for the game at Aston Villa on Sunday."
Well done them. It's not as if there are any big football stories around today anyway.
