This morning’s press is full of the fantastic news that Club Captain Vincent Kompany has signed a new six-year deal with the Blues.
You can read all about it on the BBC, Guardian or Daily Mail websites or see the original story and interview with Vinnie on mcfc.co.uk.
On their first day in China, Vinnie and the rest of the squad met Jackie Chan. The encounter left an impression on the martial arts and movie legend who told Goal.com,
"When I was young, I was a fan of a football team. Sometimes I support Hong Kong, sometimes England, but from now on, because of my friends I will support Manchester City.
"We want to thank Manchester City for coming to China, I believe there's a billion fans and they have given us the chance to learn about football and I really hope the young children go and play because it is good for their health."
Jackie empathised with City fans for their long wait for glory saying,
"You can tell how much pain, blood and tears it has taken to lift the trophy. It really is something, 44 years [since last winning the league] is a long time."
In transfer news, The Mirror says that City have rejected a £15.6 million bid from Juventus for striker Edin Dzeko.
Sky Sports say that Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has denied reports that the German side are interested in City midfielder Nigel De Jong.
After reports circulated yesterday that Inter Milan were keen on Aleks Kolarov, Inside Futbol think this is a distinct possiblity due to the player's previous time spent in Italy saying,
"Kolarov’s stock in Serie A is still high from a successful spell with Lazio between 2007 and 2010, with performances that the Nerazzurri have not forgotten.
"A fee of around €7M has been indicated as being the price Inter will pay for the Manchester City defender, with Kolarov able to look forward to regular first team football at the San Siro.”
