City take on Arsenal in Beijing’s Bird Nest Stadium today evoking strong memories of the previous meeting between two teams.

Amy Lawrence in The Guardian says that a "footballing tectonic plate has shifted since Manchester City last caught sight of Arsenal".

With City seemingly down-and-out following defeat at the Emirates, there was little hope left for City fans as Lawrence explains,

"Back in April, Mikel Arteta hammered a match-winner that had the weight of a knockout blow, Mario Balotelli was sent off with his career in England supposedly disintegrating and Roberto Mancini faced the post-match music looking and sounding like a man who knew the season was going up in smoke. 

"If it felt like classic City, little did we know City were about to serve up a classic."

The Daily Star today suggests that Emmanuel Adebayor’s proposed permanent move to Tottenham is on the brink of collapse.

The paper says that with the protracted move on the rocks, Spurs may instead turn to Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.

After reports linked Nigel De Jong with a move to Germany, the Dutch midfielder has re-affirmed his commitment to City telling Tribal Football,

"Obviously everybody wants to play for themselves individually, but it’s not always going to happen, because we have a big squad. 

But for the team we just have to go now and try and win as many trophies as we can."
