Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas fears his side could bear the cost for City’s recent frustrations when the teams meet on Sunday afternoon.

Seeing as two draws in a row seems to be considered as a mini-crisis these days, the Portuguese coach was fielding questions on City’s recent form at his Friday presser.

“What we face is the champions of England,” said Villas-Boas.

“It is a totally different proposition to our last game against Maribor, a totally different approach.

“They are coming from a run of bad results so they will be wanting to bounce back. They will be completely different games.

“Last year they had an amazing start but then they had a dip towards the end. With so much talent and ability, they are always in a condition to bounce back. They will put on a performance for sure.”

Meanwhile Jan Vertonghen believes that the London club have nothing to fear when they visit the Etihad Stadium, thanks to the speed in the team.

"City is a little bit struggling and I think we can get a good result there," said the Spurs centre-back.

"We are confident that against the best teams in the league we can do well.

"Maybe it is because we have a lot of pace and we can hurt them in transition ... I think we played our best games in the away games so that gives us confidence."

Finally, it wouldn’t be a media round-up without some transfer news to get our teeth into and the Daily Mail report that Shakhtar Donetsk’s Brazilian duo Willian and Fernandinho could be brought to Manchester after their excellent performances against Chelsea in the Champions League.

“Manchester City are scouting the two Brazilians who almost brought Chelsea to their knees,” the report reads.

“Attacking midfielder Willian, who scored twice, and his sidekick Fernandinho are both now being tracked by City following their dazzling performances at Stamford Bridge.

“Willian has long sinced wanted a move to England and was close to joining Spurs in the summer.”
