Milner's pleasure at getting off the mark, Kolarov unimpressed by Scotland and we find out how Maicon found his way to the Etihad Stadium.
City midfielder James Milner has spoken of his joy at finally getting off the mark for his country in England's 5-0 win over Moldova.
James finally notched on his 32nd cap and has been the subject of some high praise from many corners in the last few days.
"Obviously, what you want to do is score for your country and it has been a long time coming," he said.
"I had a couple of chances before that and hit the inside of the post and other things, so it was nice to get off the mark and contribute to a good England win."
Joe Hart has also been in high spirits at England's training camp and has been only too happy to show 19-year old Birmingham keeper Jack Butland the ropes.
"Jack’s a great young keeper, I spoke to him throughout Euro 2012 and during the Olympics," Hart said.
"He’s a great prospect but he just needs to play now. To play in the Olympics at 19 is a great experience for him. He’s got a massive future at the top."
Elsewhere in international news, Aleksandar Kolarov has reflected on Serbia’s 0-0 draw with Scotland, lamenting the fact that his nation should have got all three points.
"They played at home but I think we are a better team than them," he told STV.
"We know how they [Scotland] play, with long balls. They are good on the second balls and from set-pieces.
"We had this game and the last friendly game against Ireland, so we are used to playing against a team like this."
Both Aleks and new signing Matija Nastasic played the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw – they will both be in contention for Tuesday’s game at home to Wales.
Finally, Sky Sports Italia report that Maicon rejected a move to Chelsea before deciding upon his transfer to City, according to his agent Roberto Calenda.
“"He chose Manchester City after rather a long evaluation process," Calenda told Sky Sport Italia.
"All the top clubs who needed someone in that role came looking for Maicon, from Real Madrid via Jose Mourinho to PSG, Chelsea and others.
"Maicon made his decision when Roberto Mancini called, as he had started his Inter adventure with this coach seven years ago.”
