Mail: Dzeko interesting Spurs

Two of City’s Balkan stars are continuing to attract interest from a number of clubs according to the Daily Mail.

Aleks Kolarov and Edin Dzeko have been linked with moves away from the Blues all summer so, with seemingly not much else to write about today, it could be a case of using the tried and trusted when things are quiet.

The Mail’s Chris Wheeler gently fans the flames this morning as he writes: “Manchester City have rebuffed further enquiries from Galatasaray and Juventus for left-back Aleksandar Kolarov.

“The Serbian, 27, is keen to gain more playing time. City also want to keep hold of Edin Dzeko despite reputed interest from Tottenham.

“The pair found themselves more often than not on the bench during the last season of Roberto Mancini's reign at the Etihad.

“Kolarov started just nine Premier League matches last season - most of his starts came in the cup competitions - while Dzeko found himself down the pecking order behind the likes of Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez.”

There is precious little else around today other than stories surrounding Manuel Pellegrini’s recent Press conference in Hong Kong, so The Sun’s Vic Holly reports that Scott Sinclair could be set to move to the Midlands in the coming weeks.

Writes Holly: “West Brom have made the first move to end Scott Sinclair’s Manchester City nightmare.

“The Baggies have made an official inquiry about taking the winger, 24, to the Hawthorns on a season-long loan.

“City are considering it — although they also believe there is interest from new Everton boss Roberto Martinez who worked with Sinclair at Wigan.

“The Team GB star was never given a chance at City after signing from Swansea for £6million in August last year.”

That’s about the best that’s out there today. Told you it was a quiet day!
