Mum’s the word for Cavani!

If there’s one person you can trust in life, it’s mum, so the fact Edinson Cavani’s mother has revealed City are very much in the hunt to sign her son should be treated as a more than reliable source!

The Uruguayan is perhaps the most in-demand striker on the planet right now and while this transfer story seems to ebb and flow, City have been linked to the Napoli star for the best part of two years and Mrs Gomez believes that interest hasn’t waned.

The Daily Mail’s Laurie Whitwell picks up on the story this morning, writing: “Manchester City appear to have moved ahead of Chelsea in the battle to sign Edinson Cavani after the player’s mother revealed he had already engaged in conversations with Etihad officials.

“The Napoli striker has a £53million release clause in his contract and City are determined to secure his services.

“His mother Berta Gomez told Uruguayan radio: ‘Edi is talking to Madrid and City. The Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has spoken to Chelsea but there’s nothing concrete. In 15 or 20 days we’ll know his destination.’”

It seems the Blues and Real Madrid are set to go toe-to-toe on another transfer target, too – and if the stories are correct, it will be fascinating to see who comes out on top

...Media City...

The Daily Mirror’s David McDonnell says the two clubs are locking horns for Malaga’s brilliant midfielder Isco and again, there is parental involvement!

Isco

He reports: “Manchester City face competition from Real Madrid for transfer target Isco.

Deposed Premier League champions City want Malaga playmaker Isco to join their squad this summer, and are hoping incoming boss Manuel Pellegrini can help clinch a deal.

But Isco and his father, who acts as his representative, have held talks with Real Madrid, who are ready to fight City for the 21-year-old.”

So with Father’s Day on the horizon, remember to keep mum about all the above!
