Most media outlets continue their Joe Hart obsession into another day.
There’s plenty of speculation about who will start on Saturday, if you like that kind of thing, but it is just speculation – no one will know until 2pm tomorrow afternoon.
However, contrary to some reports, there will be 22 men rather than one taking to the Etihad Stadium pitch on Saturday afternoon, and Goal.com has suggested that City will be out for revenge after the Canaries ran out 3-2 victors on the final day of last season.
Meanwhile, Norwich have had a mixed start this term, but manager Chris Hughton is hopeful his side can recreate May's display.
He is quoted as saying: "It was a really good occasion and a great performance and result.
"You're always looking for plusses and ways in which the team can be motivated. We know our performances haven't been bad, but we haven't had the points to go with our performances. That's the reality.
"Nobody will deny that it's a tough ask but you've got to go there and be delighted by the challenge, and you've got to be excited by it too."
Elsewhere, Fernandinho’s performances are starting to command serious column inches, with several outlets mystified by his exclusion from the latest Brazil squad.
The midfielder’s performances in partnership with Yaya Toure have been a big plus for City this season, and hopefully should help Fernandinho achieve his dream of making the World Cup in his home country.
Callum Fox writes: “The game was arguably Fernandinho's finest performance so far, as a fantastic through ball for Sergio Aguero’s first goal early on gave the Brazilian a boost in confidence.
“The City star would go on to complete 91 percent of his passes that game, according to Squawka, with two key passes leading to an assist.
“Fernandinho also showed how much of a powerhouse he can be in the centre of the park, winning 16 of 17 headers so far this season in addition to a tackle-success rate of 85 percent."
...Callum Fox, Bleacher Report..
“He also laid on ten goalscoring chances for his teammates, although Aguero’s strike against the Hammers was the only assist so far.”
Although the Anfield man comes out on top in passing and duels, Fernandinho pips his countryman to the post at heading and tackles.
Lynch writes: “Lucas is a shade taller than his fellow Brazilian, which should make this category an uneven contest in the physical arena of the Premier League. However, Fernandinho has won an incredible 95% of 20 aerial duels since moving to England, a statistic which puts him well ahead of Liverpool's midfield anchor ( 69.6% of 26).
“Committing to a tackle and failing to win it is a cardinal sin in midfield given the threat that many teams pose on the counter. But Scolari would have no concerns should he opt for Fernandinho, with the 28-year-old having succeeded in 82.6% of his attempts to regain the ball. Lucas, meanwhile, took the ball in just 68.4% of his 38 tackles.”
Luiz Felipe Scolari could have a big decision on his hands come next summer…
