Stevan Jovetic has no regrets about swapping Italy for Manchester in the summer, according to today’s reports.
The striker is currently away with Montenegro, who face Moldova tonight after Jovetic was unlucky not to find the back of the net against England at Wembley.
Jovetic signed for the Sky Blues from Fiorentina in the summer, and is confident he made the right move amid interest from Italian giants Juventus.
The Montenegrin is quoted in the Mirror, via Tuttosport, as saying: “The interest of Juventus? I was aware of the deal, I read about it in the newspapers and I know that they were speaking with my agent.
"In the end, however, I chose to go abroad and now I'm happy. I don't regret the choice I made."
Jovetic has suffered with injuries since moving to the Etihad, but reckons his performance against England shows he’s returning to full fitness.
He added: "Against England, I proved to be in good shape and now I just need to play regularly to find the best condition, I'm not worried."
Elsewhere City, and Edin Dzeko, appear to have a new fan in Croatian pop sensation Severina Vuckovic.
John Drayton explains: “Pop star Severina Vuckovic went to Instagram to post a picture of herself in a signed City shirt with Dzeko's name on the back.
“And the former Wolfsburg man was so pleased that he shared it with his Twitter followers.”
Finally, in the most sensationalist transfer story of the day, City and United could go head to head to land….Andres Iniesta – at least, if a report in the Daily Express is to be believed.
The Barcelona man is a key midfield cog for the Catalan giants but is yet to sign a new contract, and that is apparently enough for the stories to begin circulating.
Reports David Wright: “The Premier League sides are set to take advantage of the delay in Iniesta's contract renewal with the Spanish champions.
“The Spain international has spent his entire career at the Nou Camp and has dismissed suggestions that he will leave, but that won't stop the Mancunian outfits from tempting the creative midfielder.”
Iniesta has done his best to kill this particular rumour, telling Movistar’s webpage: "You have to be where you want to be, and Barca is the place for me."
Difficult to be much clearer than that, but it appears his efforts are futile, especially in an international break!
