Day 11 of the transfer window and of course, City are making the headlines. But what tales can we bring you today?

Well, after it was reported yesterday that City's interest in Eliaquim Mangala was hotting up, the Mirror are today claiming that a bid has been made for the defender.

They suggest: "The 22-year-old, who started his career at Belgian side Standard Liege, is fast becoming one of the most sought after players in Europe.

"A powerful centre-back, Mangala started life as a left back and is happy in either position and could prove a perfect replacement for out-of-favour defender Joleon Lescott should he leave.

"And now French website are claiming that the club have made a €45m euros bid for the France defender."

...The Mirror...

We'll see how that one progresses...

The Mirror are also reporting that Spanish striker Alvaro Negredo snubbed the chance to join Everton a year ago.

Writes David Anderson: "The Goodison club were wrongly told Sevilla would accept a cut-price offer for the Spain striker, only to have a £9million bid rejected.

"Negredo went on to join Manchester's Blues in the summer, in a deal which could be worth a total of £20.4m."

According to Anderson, the Beast revealed: "There were some rumours, but I just wanted to finish the season with Seville. I wanted to wait until it got to the summer before I started looking at other options. I never really considered the possibility of moving last January."

Their loss is our gain!

And finally, have announced that the transfer saga involving Nigerian starlet, Kelechi Iheanacho has finally come to an end, with the youngster agreeing to join City in October, when he turns 18.

Writes Jonathan Birchall: "City have resurrected the move for Iheanacho and agreed terms after a dispute between his parents and the club arose over bonus payments threatened to collapse a deal last month.

"The 17-year-old, who won the Golden Ball at the Under-17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates last autumn, is currently on holiday in Barcelona and will return to Nigeria before moving to Manchester when he turns 18 in 10 months’ time."

Birchall claims that Iheanacho’s father James told

"The situation is that Kelechi hasn’t turned 18 yet and until he does, he can’t sign but what he has done is sign a pre-contract with Manchester City pending his 18th birthday."

The same article also suggests that the Blues are keen to add more talent to their academy and are interested in capturing the signature of another Nigerian wonderkid, Chidi Nwakali.

Continues Birchall: "City have invested heavily in top youth talent over the last 12 months, with Swede Zacharias Faour, Norwegian goalkeeper Kjetil Haug, Real Madrid starlet Jose Pozo and Malaga's Brahim Abdelkader all having joined the club.

"Iheanacho's 17-year-old compatriot, Chidi Nwakali, is also expected to sign imminently after arriving at the club for talks last week."

That's all for today. As always, if there's ever any truth behind these rumours, we'll have it here first on!
