City on Lampard:
Frank Lampard joined Manchester City ahead of his debut season with affiliate club New York City on 6 August 2014.
Lampard has earned more than 100 caps for England, scoring 29 goals and appearing in three World Cups and two European Championships.
He was named Football Writers Footballer of the Year in 2005, won UEFA’s Midfielder of the Year award in 2008 and claimed the PFA’s Fan Player of the Year title in 2005.
Frank started his career at West Ham United where he came through the youth system before going on to amass 187 games in all competitions for the Hammers.
In 2001, he joined Chelsea for a reported £11m where he would go on to establish himself among the club’s all-time greats.
The Romford-born midfielder regularly scored more than 20 goals from midfield for the London club and he eventually broke Bobby Tambling’s long-standing goalscoring record on 11 May 2013 with his second goal in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa.
Last season, he played 40 games for Chelsea and scored eight goals.
He joined NYCFC on 24 July 2014 and will kick-off the 2015 season in Major League Soccer.
