Memorial Garden – Important Notice

There is no greater honour bestowed upon a football club, than to be given the unconditional support by a fan

To be invited to become part of their life is a privilege.  To be asked to become a part of their memory is an honour and means much more than trophies and titles. This responsibility we take extremely seriously and feel passionate about.

The Memorial Garden in the heart of the Etihad Stadium is available to all fans to take time and remember their loved ones.  The quiet and peaceful garden is located to the right of the Colin Bell stand reception, and is accessible to all.

To assist us in maintaining the appearance and feel of the Memorial Garden and as we are unable to accept responsibility for damaged or stolen property left within it we kindly ask that only temporary memorials (flowers, cards, scarf’s) are left. Due to the popularity of the garden we are sadly unable to allow permanent memorial plates, personal objects and planting.

From 1 February 2012, any temporary memorials in the garden will remain undisturbed for seven days out of respect. It will then be stored for one month so you can collect it if you would like to do so.

To facilitate the return of any item please complete a Memorial Garden receipt form which will assist us to log and track your item and enables us to notify you when the end of the four week period is approaching. Items uncollected after four weeks will either be donated to charity or permanently removed. The receipt forms can be collected from and returned to the reception team in the Colin Bell Stand.

We endeavour to not only enhance the privacy for our visitors, especially whilst going through an emotional time, but also reduce unnecessary stress. If you would like to visit the garden, please call 0161 438 7601 or contact reception to book an appointment.

There is no charge for the use of the Memorial Garden and on personal request the Club Reverend may also attend and hold a short private service, availability permitting.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
