Visiting the Etihad Stadium
How do you get to the Etihad Stadium? One way is practice. Here are the others.
There is a safe, well lit and signposted walking route available from Manchester Piccadilly Station. Signage will direct you along the route. Please follow the ‘City Link’ signs. Download the Stadium map which shows the designated safe walking route. It will take approximately 25-minutes to walk to the Etihad Stadium from the city centre.
There are a number of public bus services available from all directions.
At the end of the match buses will be lined up on Ashton New Road next to the South Stand, to take you back to the city centre, where you can connect onwards or celebrate a win. Based on supporter feedback, stewards will be on hand this season to help manage the queues more effectively at the end of the match.
Please visit the following website for more information, www.tfgm.com.
Our dedicated tram stop, Etihad Campus is located adjacent to the Stadium, beside City Square.
Metrolink runs from the city centre incl. Manchester Piccadilly station to Etihad Campus and on towards Ashton. The journey time from Piccadilly is less than 10-minutes. On event days, trams run to/from the Stadium stop every 6 minutes.
Tickets must be purchased before travel, ticket machines are located on every Metrolink platform with an off peak return from the city centre priced at £3 for adults, £1.40 for children. Great value adult, child, family and weekend travelcards are also available from Metrolink ticket machines on stop. If you are travelling to Manchester by train, you can also usually purchase your Metrolink journey when you buy your train ticket.
Please note that both Holt Town and Velopark Metrolink stops, located on either side of the Etihad Campus stop, will not be open for at least an hour after an event at the Stadium so we strongly advise you to use the Etihad Campus stop for your return journey.
Metrolink Park & Ride

For those travelling from the east or north there are two large Park & Ride car parks located at Ashton West and Ashton Moss. The journey time to the Stadium is less than 25-minutes and the off peak return fare to Etihad Campus is £2.70 for adults, £1.20 for children.

The best way to beat the traffic of course is to stay and enjoy the post-match fun in City Square, at the Stadium end of Joe Mercer Way. City Square, with a fully license outdoor bar and café, is a great place to enjoy food and drink and reflect on the game and watch the highlights with City pundits, player interviews and celebrity guests.
Keep up to date with the latest news and events at City Square here.
