George Swann is a commanding centre-back with the ability to read the game and his strengths lie in winning the ball in the air and his timing of tackles.

The defender joined City from Leeds United where his father made 49 appearances in the eighties. He had an injury hit season last year, making only two appearances for the under-18s last year but Swan is expected to feature more regularly as he enters the second year of his scholarship.

George captained the under-18s at their pre-season training camp in Portugal which showed how highly he is regarded by the staff and impressed with his leadership skills, bringing the young squad together.

Swan spent a month on loan at Norwegian Premier League outfit Stromsgodset towards the end of the last campaign.
